Picopress provides a service where we can take back catalogues of PDFs and convert them into a variety of eBook formats. We will convert the images and text into a single non paginated document and then add back in the documents structure; TOCS, indexes, footnotes, etc
The open and non proprietory format for eBooks is called ePub. See Wikipedia for more details.
There are ways to make this possible ;-)
The rights to your publication firmly and squarly stay with the existing rights holders, in whatever form those rights have been granted or exerted. Picopress claims not rights or exclusivity to any publications using its services.
Third party services that might distribute your content will each have their own terms and conditions, it is important that you read those terms and conditions.
Picopress is not your publishers. Picopress acts as a formatting service, consultancy and as an agent to a variety of sales and distribution channels.
Picopress can access the The Espresso Book Machine® service through the Lightning Source Company service. The Espresso prints the book while a customer waits, with machines dotted around the world, Venezuella, Australia to mention a few.
Yes, you can print full colour books.
In addition you can have randomly placed colour, like a double page spread and a single page at the start of your book, and that way only pay for the colour you use.
The second option is to have colour sections of 4, 8, 16 page sections of colour. This is a cost effective way of adding colour.
The standard page sizes are:
Up to 210x135 (B-format)
211x136–220x148 (A5 & Demy)
221x149–235x160 (Royal)
236x161–297x210 (B5, Quarto and A4)
Other sizes available on request.
The minimum page count is four and the maximum 848 pages.
For most POD books you can print the minimum order quantity of one. For custom book types you may need to print in quantities of 10 or 100 copies.
